“CARTE BLANCHE Review     This album should have been called “Mentalgasm”... Sweet Ecstasy”…."Extended foreplay"...Simply beautiful!!!    Allen… Allen… Allen… I wish I could give this album 10+ stars… it’s just that good…this is a very sexy album...I haven’t been able to stop playing it. I wish it was longer…..I wish certain tracks, certain notes were a little bit longer, for my own personal mental pleasure, because I never want it to end. It’s pure ECSTASY!!!    If you appreciate real RnB, that’s soulful, sensual and that makes you feel… you will definitely appreciate “ CARTE BLANCHE”….Mr. Allen McNeil definitely delivers on every single track. This album is for everybody…who appreciates really, really good music. But definitely for the grown and sexy... If you know Allen McNeil, from his days as the lead singer with the RnB Legendary group TROOP…. you should know that his voice is still the same…. Yes it is still the same... Still classic and timeless.. It just takes you back, when you first heard him belt out, those melodic notes at the beginning, of the classic remake of “All I do is think of you” and "Spread my wings". Allen is definitely in a class all by himself,  (even though you can here his musical influence of Michael Jackson)… I can tell this mans voice anywhere, even when he was in the group… There’s no one who sounds like him. Time has not changed this mans god given gift…. His vocal emotional depth as he delivers his notes.. just leaves you hanging on to every lyric, you don’t wanna let go…you’re hoping he hangs on to the words just a little bit longer...   That just goes to show you, that whatever gifts, god blesses you with and only you.. nothing can take it away… Allen’s voice is still sensual, melodic, enticing. He still hits those emotional, soft but very masculine falsetto notes, on the slow ballads…You can tell he feels every lyric and wants you to feel it too…he wants to take you on an emotional high...theres something on here for everyone, even the younger generation..I just hope they can appreciate it…. The uptempo, mid to fast tracks are good too on, “Got Em and Anthem” thats definitely a club banger…You can definitly turn up the volume as you are cruising.... As I’m listening to this album I can’t help but be a bit upset that this album is not being played on radio stations… This album should be shared worldwide, not this so-called music they have out now…but anyway.. we’ve all heard artist that sing (if that’s what they want to call it) and they make you feel nothing. You’re left feeling like damn,… I wish I can have a refund...   Not Mr. McNeil…..Even the riffs are enticing…this melodic sensual music, will have you swaying your hips…wanting to slow dance. I simply can’t get enough of this mans voice…Before you listen to these slow ballads, make sure you are home… if your not home, you’re going to want to get home, lol… make sure you turn up the central air, have a bag of ice or some wine near… You will be that relax…. your body temperature will rise…don’t wear to much clothing because it will come off :)… this album will entice you to wanna make love…Allen’s smooth voice is seductively tantalizing....Don’t be ashamed of how the music and his voice makes you feel… It’s totally all good…we grown....just submit to it. Guys….you might wanna play this for your lady to get her in the mood.. She will definitely look at you with that look in her eyes…no words needed... feel the music throughout your body, in your mind.. Music is suppose to turn you on and make you feel sensuous.. Music is freedom and a no judgement zone….This is definitely an album you wanna have with you in the fall/winter time….you might save on your electric bill :), lol.   The romantic, sensual ballads will bring out your inner romantic, sensual side. It will open your heart, your mind and make you feel embraced by every lyric and the music will envelop you. From the moment the beat drops, that first bar and when Allen complements it with his sultry voice… you will be taken to emotional ecstasy that you didn’t even know existed…It will be a full body experience…TRUST ME!!!.. I don’t know about you, but when I listen to an artist, that can actually sing and that makes me feel…. I just want to be taken to ecstasy…and that’s all I want, to be one with the music...   Before I previewed the album, I looked at the title of the album…I thought to myself hmmmmm.. interesting…”CARTE BLANCHE”.. I carefully observed the song titles…I wanted to pick up a certain type of energy…. and I chose to preview first “Rejuvenate me”…I’m glad I did!….This romantic, love making ballad is very, very enticing. You can feel that he really wants to make love to this woman, and how long he’s been waiting... It will have you feeling “Some type of way” which is another good one. It will make you feel rejuvenated and you will feel like “Fallen in Love”....Allen lets out a riff @ 2:06 minutes into that song, (it reminds me of when he sang solo on “Deepa) It’s so emotional…so heartfelt….you can tell he’s really in love with this woman. As Allen is singing you will feel as if, what he’s singing about is all “About you”….This track is a nice uptempo ballad about his love being certain, even though his lover may not be sure…."Naked in a magazine" is another good one… I think it’s beautiful and seductive…about being naked both physically and emotionally…celebrating the beauty of the naked body.....    “Infront of me”….this track right here…got damn... takes my breathe away…I swear my heart skipped a beat…. it’s very tantric…very intoxicating…very seductive…this track will make you wanna slow dance for your lover.. you can’t help but feel high and sexy and feel like dancing…very euphoric.. I feel it tells a story about how he wants a woman, to let down her guard, her inhibitions and just feel free naked and be intuned with her body and to just feel sexy…how he likes the way her body moves infront of him as he takes her...” I want You” is another track will make you feel so relaxed, ..very indulgent.. Allen’s voice just pulls you in. You’ll feel the lyrics and music throughout your body....its a seductive call that you can’t help but mentally submit to…This tracks makes you forget about where you are and what you are doing…he demands your full attention….it’s the perfect combination of feminine energy submitting to masculine energy.    It took me a minute to write a review, ever since I downloaded this album. Simply because I wanted to find the write words to express my genuine appreciation for his music…I appreciate when an artist takes his/her time to deliver quality good music…a full album and not just singles all the time….I don’t want five minutes or less of something and then I’m left hanging…. When an artist actually cares about their fans... When they stay true to what they know…you can still embrace the times and changing of music, but still stay true to what you know and to real soulful RnB… Allen is not trying to be pop…he stays in his lane…he’s not trying to be a rapper.. he leaves that to someone else…this is not a "busy" album, that you can’t tell where he’s going…every song is meticulous and orchestrated perfectly…the lyrics, music, everything is very complementary.   He’s an RnB soul singer…a balladeer, a storyteller… which is what a lot of artist are not….he’s like this is me, emotional, vulnerable, raw and he puts his heart on the line…..Even the songs about heartbreak, it’s still beautifully told....I’ve been a fan of Troop since I was 8, I’m 35 now and I couldn’t get past certain tracks without, rewinding certain parts…I couldn’t let it play fully, because I loved what I heard and so will you... Allen voice is just very soothing…it warms your heart....He doesn’t have to try to hard to deliver….The same Allen McNeil you feel in love with, from Troop is still here, but even better, more mature, because its all him… some artist might fear when they venture out on their own….that their music may not be well received, because they are not part of a group, please don’t let that deter you away from this masterpiece of RnB soul music.   I can go on and on about this album but you have to purchase it for yourself.. trust me, you will not be disappointed…This is what music needs to get back to. I pray for the revival of soulful RnB. Because this album should be played on all radio stations. I’m grateful for the independent platforms, out in this digital age so that I, as well as others can still have access to our favorite artist. If we waited for record companies, we would be waiting forever… "CARTE BLANCHE" should not be slept on…it should be in every playlist, in every household because it is simply AMAZING!
